Cosmetics are NFTs that can be used to alter the appearance of Units, Buildings, and other in-game assets. They can be broken up into Borders, Crests, Clothing (alters Unit appearance), and Architecture (alters Building appearance). In-game, they are represented by pixel art icons in game menus as well as 3D models for Borders, Clothing, and Architecture.
Cosmetics are crafted at the Workshop using Trinkets. In addition to being used to customize different parts of an Empire, Cosmetics also have intrinsic value as tradable NFTs. In future updates, the Market will facilitate trading of NFTs between Leaders for Gold.
